This past Friday, our community reminded us why we do this. After a week shadowed by devastating ICE raids across our city, we weren’t sure if our Summer Fridays kickoff would even happen. But deep down, we knew—we had to show up. For our gente. For the culture. For the love.

With just days to pivot, our team sprang into action. Phone calls. Late nights. Real talks with our partners. And they came through. Our DJs, Que Madre, Escaliente, Allie Rock, DJ Chava, our Takeover Partner Hija de tu Madre and our Lead Sponsor Don Julio stood tall with us in solidarity. Together, we raised over $8,000 for the Immigrant Defenders Law Center. And that’s not all—our sister company Guelaguetza is matching every single dollar. That’s $16K of direct love back to our people.

And yo... the vibes? Immaculate.

From the beats to the bites, every inch of the festival pulsed with energy and pride. We danced, we laughed, we shared micheladas and memories. Again and again, we heard:

“Thank you! Our community needed this”

Those words will be echoing through our office.
